Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Reaction: "Lockup" (4x05)

Spoilers! Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. contains PG-13 level content.

Welcome back to another episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.! This week orange is the new black as the team visits the prison housing Robbie's uncle, Eli Morrow... and things get pretty shifty. Meanwhile, we get to see more of the really creepy evil book and the ghost in pursuit of it, Jemma worries about taking her polygraph test now that she knows about Fitz and Radcliffe's super secret AI project, and Jeffrey Mace goes off-book in more ways than one. So how did this all go down? Let's find out!

My Favorite Moments

★ Both Coulson's holographic shield and Mack's shotgun axe returned in the same episode!

Daisy and Robbie were still with the team this week, and we got emotional and badass scenes from both of them.

So many emotions.

★ Honestly, though, Daisy in this episode. She's grown so much, she's become so badass, and she's like a mini-Melinda May.  It would be an honor to have my butt kicked by her.

★ Jemma was once again fantastic in this episode. The way she cheated her way out of the polygraph was stellar. I love her quiet confidence. Getting to see her in such a leading role both on the show and in S.H.I.E.L.D. is such a treat.

★ May, too. (This was definitely an episode for girl power.) She was surprisingly vulnerable in this episode, and I loved seeing her conversation with Daisy.

"You don't get to choose who cares about you--and Coulson, he's got a bigger heart than most." - May
★ I'm just so struck by how everyone has grown and changed since the first season. Daisy's almost unrecognizable, Coulson's short of a hand, Fitzsimmons are strong and together and helping lead S.H.I.E.L.D., and Mack's come so far from being just a mechanic. Remember how little they were? ABSOLUTE BABIES.

★ The Darkhold is so, so evil and disturbing, but the graphics and the way it presents itself as different to everyone was really cool.
Me too, Gabriel Luna, me too.

★ Jeffrey Mace confessed that he's an Inhuman, so... that happened. I imagine this will change a lot about the show moving forward.

My Least Favorite Moments

★ C'mon, Robbie, did you really have to kill that model prisoner? The answer is no, you did not. (I'm wondering if he really can't control the thing possessing him, which would make this slightly more understandable.)

★ I dislike the ghost version of Lucy Bauer with a fiery passion. (Pun intended. I'm never going to stop.)

However, she's a really fascinating character all at the same time, and she's well-acted, so kudos.

Favorite Quotes
"Lucy and the whole Peanuts gang."
 "Ghost busted."
Overall

I have basically nothing to complain about. This was another solid episode, things are progressing nicely, and there hasn't been a thing about this season that I don't appreciate. Life is really, really good. Thanks, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.!
