Okay guys, this is it. The season two finale of
Jane the Virgin!
We start with a flashback of young Jane being told Abuela's wedding story, then we flash forward to Jane and Michael, making out, reminiscent of the first scene in season one. They express their excitement for the wedding, then meet the family outside where Rogelio is freaking out about wedding plans. They calm him down, but Michael soon reveals he forgot to change the booking of the hotel for their honeymoon. Michael assures her he will fix it, then we move to Rafael who finishes talking with his sister when Petra walks in. She almost has a moment with him when Jane texts and says it's urgent, and we soon find Mateo taking his first steps.
Jane must soon be on her way to try to changer her thesis. We then skip to Michael who is back on the police force with Susanna as his partner, and Luisa on her tail. Later, we go back to the Villanueva family making last minute wedding plans. Xo asks if Dina is coming, very civilly, but that is soon contradicted when a gift basket from Esteban shows up for Xo. Jane calls then and says she wouldn't be able to change her thesis without another project to back it up. Xo assures her everything will be okay, just as Rogelio walks in and finds the gift basket.
The entire family then goes to the rehearsal wedding, but we soon find out Michael paid a huge amount of money for their honeymoon hotel, and everyone else is pretty tense, so nothing goes well. In the end, the priest falls over a table and is knocked unconscious. Later, everyone apologizes to Jane, and she tries to move past it. We then go to Petra and Anezca caring for the babies, and Anezca starts throwing some shade.
Meanwhile, Rafael is talking to Luisa and says he still loves Jane. He asks whether or not he should tell her, but Luisa assures him he has to let her go. Later that night, Jane is still upset about how things went at the rehearsal, and Abuela confesses that her wedding wasn't exactly perfect. Someone ended up protesting because she wasn't a virgin, and she barely escaped the ensuing tussle with her husband. Jane is able to laugh things off, then Michael emails her a list of things to be talked about before the wedding. It's all very cute and stuff, but Rafael is still upset.
The next morning Jane is getting ready for the wedding, and an emotional scene between her and Abuela sparks a new idea for her thesis. She calls her adviser to see if it's too late, and it's not, but the only way to get it in on time would be to pitch it in person. She decides to take a chance and squeeze it in before her wedding. The committee loves her thesis, but later her adviser finds her trying to put her wedding dress on in the bathroom. She awkwardly buttons her in, and soon Jane is on her way, but the car Rogelio was supposed to drive her in breaks down.
They rush to the the bus, but it takes a while to get there. Michael tries to stall with a good amount of success, and she makes it. Just before she enters the church doors, Rafael shows up with Mateo. He hands him off and looking at Jane, confesses he still loves her. But then we find out it was all a fantasy. (Way to throw us off, commercials!) Jane then walks down the aisle, and everything goes off without a hitch. Jane officially becomes married to Michael.
We move on to the reception where Bruno Mars performs, Jane and Rogelio have an awesome hip-hop daddy-daughter dance, and Michael is introduced to Jerry from Tuscaloosa who says Roll Tide. (That's important later on.) But unfortunately, Anezca collapses, and she is rushed to the hospital. Later, Xo is upset and goes outside where Rogelio finds her. She apologizes and confesses she still wants to be with him but still doesn't want kids. He says he still loves her too, but he's not changing on that. They smooth things over and dance one last time.
Back at the hospital, we find out that Anezca is paralyzed. Upset, Petra just wants to be alone with her, but we soon find out that wasn't Petra at all but Anezca, who injected her with something. We then go back to Jane and Michael who are about to spend the night at a Motel 6 (Michael cancelled the reservation) where Michael gives her a snow globe so it's always snowing on them. (Because they first kissed in the snow, remember?)
But then we find out Xo is pregnant, and Anezca posing as Petra has sex with Rafael. Meanwhile, things are getting pretty heavy with Jane and Michael, but they must pause so Michael can get some ice and Jane can put on lingerie. In the hallway, Michael passes Susanna and says Roll Tide, but when she doesn't say Roll, he immediately suspects her. That's when she pulls out a gun and SHOOTS HIM. She rushes back to her room where she goes to Luisa and pulls off her face mask, revealing that she is indeed Sin Rostro back from the grave.
Well, that's a season finale for ya. It's been fun guys, but the upcoming break is needed after this roller coaster of a season.
