As this summer is coming to a close (does school really start next week?), I've decided to recommend a newcomer to the Disney Junior screen. Miles from Tomorrowland premiered in February of this year. Here are five reasons why your last days of summer should be spent watching this show:
Miles has the coolest family.
A family that performs missions in space?! I'm in! (It's also nice to have a racially diverse family, too. Disney's been good about that lately. ☺)
Merc.
Where can I get a robot ostrich?
There's super cool futuristic technology.
Um, can I have it, please?
Flubber makes a guest appearance.
They call him Blodger on the show, but we all know who he really is.
The character's facial expressions will make life worth living.
I have no idea what's going on.
Have you ever watched Miles from Tomorrowland? What is your favorite part of the show?
Imagination Movers is one of the few live action shows on Disney Junior. It cracks me up every time I watch it! All the characters have something that makes them hilarious. I love watching all the ridiculous antics of the characters! Here are some more reasons I think you should watch Imagination Movers:
When I first started watching Doc McStuffins, I really connected with her. As a kid, my favorite thing to play was "doctor." I used a big Magna-Doodle to write down (scribble) the names of my patients, who were all stuffed animals unless I could convince my parents to play along. I even put a doll's pair of bloomers on my head for a hairnet. (I was so fabulous.) This has fast become one of my favorite Disney Junior shows. Here are some more reasons why I think you should watch Doc McStuffins:
It has a plethora of adorable stuffed animals.
What kid hasn't wanted to see their toys come to life? The adorable friends of Doc has just as adorable personalities. Every character has something that makes them special. There is also a toy for almost every character ever featured on the show, which brings me to my next point.
You can buy almost all of the toys you see on the show.
I am the type of person (aka kid) who likes to have a stuffed animal for everything. When I watch Monsters, Inc, my Mike Wazowski toy is always beside me. When I watch Winnie the Pooh, my Eeyore toy watches with me. You can choose a favorite character to snuggle up to as you watch, or just to display because they're so cute!
Doc isn't constantly asking for your help.
I know I hate on Dora the Explorer a lot, but you have to admit that it's kind of creepy when a character stares at you until you answer (or until she thinks you've had enough time to answer). Doc is smart and can figure out things by herself. I'm pretty sure that if Doc were a real person, she would probably be one of those people that graduates from college at age 12 with multiple degrees. (Including a medicine degree, of course.)
Doc has the sweetest office ever.
It's kind of like Steve's house from Blue's Clues, it's ten times bigger on the inside, So, basically, her office is the TARDIS. Doc is The Doctor. *mind blown* Bonus: IT HAS A SLIDE.
(Who else is imagining Peter Capaldi wearing Doc's outfit now?)
You will now sing this every time you go to the doctor.
Not gonna lie, I sing it every time I go to the doctor.
Have you ever watched Doc McStuffins? Who is your favorite toy from the show? (Also, is McStuffins a real name or is it just something that you can get from McDonald's?)
I know what you're thinking: "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse? Really?" Trust me on this one. Let's face it: most shows for children aren't really very child-like. So many kid's channels cast their shows with teenagers and make the challenges in the show so dramatic. It makes me wish we could just go back to the days when all there was to watch was Sesame Street! So, instead of me spit-balling about today's terrible programming, I'm going to tell you why you should watch Disney Junior instead, one show at a time.
It has one of the most adorable theme songs.
I defy you not to cry "Donald! Daisy! Goofy! Pluto! Minnie! Mickey!" every time someone says "Roll Call." Bonus points for Mickey Mouse not staring at you creepily while waiting for an answer. *cough DORA THE EXPLORER cough*
It has the clubhouse of your dreams.
Well, at least my dreams. This is coming from the girl that had a Mickey Mouse cake for her Sweet Sixteen, after all. And look how secluded it is! You could live there and no one would ever bother you again.
Toodles.
Where do I buy Toodles? I need a Toodles in my life. (Now, when Toodles got a face later on in the show it was a little weird, but in most of the episodes they air Toodles is just a helpful Mickey Mouse shaped...thing.)
All of the adventures are different.
There's episodes about space, hot air balloons, pets, food, you name it! Not two episodes are the same, and they air different ones all the time so it doesn't feel like the entire show is on "repeat" every time you turn it on. Dora the Explorer, however, well...
Hot dog!
(This Christmas one was the only one I could find but it's the same thing, so, oh well.) It will be stuck in your head. All day. Sorry not sorry.
Do you watch Disney Junior or am I the only sixteen year old who does this sort of thing? (And if I am, I don't care. I will continue watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse until the day I die.)
